September 2026 Newsletter
President's Report
Hello! It's been a minute since a newsletter has gone out. I hope everyone has had a great Summer and got through the graduation season unscathed. September is just about here and there are a few significant things about this month.
September 11th, 2026 - marks the 25th anniversary of the attacks in 2001. I recommend visiting the Flight 93 Memorial and/or the Memorial and Museum in Lower Manhattan if you can. For more information and ways to commemorate and remember, please visit: Marking the 25th Anniversary | National September 11 Memorial & Museum
September 13th - Grandparents day!
September 17th - Constitution Day - the day the US Constitution was Adopted in 1787.
September 21st - International Day of Peace - some celebrate by observing a moment of silence at noon, peace walks, concerts, and volunteering in the community.
September 22nd - The start of fall! Pumpkins, changing leaves, apple picking, pumpkin spice everything (!!), sweater weather, football, and everything that we love about fall.

We are hoping to have another Lunch and Learn this month and can't wait to see what is in store for the 2027 Annual Conference.
Annual Conference
The 2027 PAMSS Annual Educational Conference will be hosted by the South-Central Chapter, and we've gotten some great feedback from the survey regarding location ideas. There are quite a few suggestions for State College, Harrisburg, and Gettysburg and we have a few locations we are looking at. Stay tuned for more information.
If you would like to volunteer to be part of the conference planning committee, please reach out to [email protected] for more information.

These videos will be highlighted in marketing efforts leading up to conference and could be featured in-person in New Orleans this fall. Your video will automatically be recorded and sent to NAMSS for our promotional materials! In 140 seconds or less, please introduce yourself and answer any of the listed prompts. There are quite a few prompts included in the form, but you can submit as many or as few responses as you'd like! I have also attached some video recording tips & tricks to help you as you prepare for your video clip. You can record your video here: https://smithbucklinvoices.gv-one.com/requests.html?gId=2350&rId=20260

In Closing
I will leave you with one final note to either make you laugh or face palm:
Why should you never lie to an X-ray technician?
They can see right through you.
