MISSION 

PAMSS is committed to enhancing the professional development of and recognition for professionals in the medical staff, provider enrollment and credentialing services field. Through our education, advocacy, and commitment to patient safety, PAMSS continues to support our colleagues in the healthcare industry.

Our STory

The establishment of a state chapter in Pennsylvania can be credited to four forward thinking women, Ella Cloeren, Janet Izzy, Lucille Sitzler and Barb DeVinney.  They became acquainted with each other over the years at the educational conferences of the National Association of Medical Staff Service (NAMSS). Each of them was heavily involved with tier local chapters.  They felt it would be beneficial to Medical Staff Services personnel in Pennsylvania to form a state chapter.  After several formation meetings, and gaining the approval of NAMSS, the state chapter was operative in 1988.

Many people throughout the state shared the founders’ belief in the educational and networking benefits of a state organization.  In its first full year, 1989, there were 75 Members.
